Background
Imogen's first experience of salsa was an Afro-Cuban dance workshop 20 years ago. She then started taking classes in Brighton in 1994 with Colombian teacher Elder Sanchez and Cuban teachers Clemente and Piru. In 1998 she began promoting salsa events and classes in London. She co-founded Salsa-UK in 1999 and was co-director of both Salsa-UK and the UK Salsa Congress until 2005.

The UK Salsa Congress
Imogen directed and organised the first ever UK Salsa Congress in 2002 and continued to manage this event for four consecutive years. This weekend festival of salsa music and dance featured the finest salsa dancers, teachers and bands from all over the world and attracted over 2000 attendees.
