MIGUEL AND MAYANA
Miguel and Mayana are undoubtedly one of the UK's most passionate,
professional and popular salsa couples in the UK. They have
charm, charisma and technical prowess when teaching and performing,
and have a huge following in the UK. It came as no surprise
when they were voted UK's best salsa teachers in the UK Salsa
Central Awards 2009.
MIGUEL
Miguel started salsa 10 years ago and has picked up many awards
on his amazing journey. His musical interpretation, which
comes as a gift from both his musician parents, is second
to none. Miguel has a real edge, due to the combination of
his contagious personality, teamed with his dedication, love
and talent for salsa.
MAYANA
Mayana's love for dance started at an early age. She followed
her heart and went to one of the best Russian Dance Academies
where she studied both traditional and contemporary dance.
She continued teaching various dance styles until she found
Salsa. She trained & performed with Duende Dance Company
and is now dancing full time with Miguel. Mayana combines
her technical training and knowledge of various dance forms
into her own signature and she is the most beautiful, elegant
and stylish dancer.
AWARDS
Miguel was Corona Salsa Champion 2001, Scala Latina Salsa
Champion 2003 and UKA Salsa Champion 2006-2007. In 2007 Miguel
and Mayana were awarded the UK Professional UK Salsa Champion
title and in 2009 were voted UK's best salsa teachers in the
UK Salsa Central Awards.
PERFORMING
Miguel and Mayana's shows are breathtaking! They are both
very strong dancers in their own right and together their
energy is incredible! Through their bodies and movement, beautiful
costumes and outstanding choreography, they invite the spectator
to really feel the music. Miguel's flavour and charisma with
Mayana's playfulness & elegance always delight and entice
an audience.
TEACHING
Miguel & Mayana teach a portfolio of regular classes in
greater London and travel the UK and abroad as guest teachers
for festivals and congresses. They always bring a fun, relaxed
and supportive atmosphere into their classes.
